Pet Grooming Part 1 – Safety, Terminology, Bath and Brush.
 
In this course will you learn the basics of Pet Grooming .

Students will learn the fundamentals of grooming, handling techniques, equipment, safety, health, and the skills to correctly bathe and brush out pets so they may begin entry into the job market for Bather\Brusher positions.

Students MUST be able to Lift 50 LBS onto a table.
Students MUST be able to control a large dog.
Students MUST be able to safely use scissors without injuring animals.
Students Can be dismissed from the program if the instructor deems the student unsafe or harms an animal.


Thursday Evenings, 5:30pm - 9:30pm
Part 1 consists of 7 Classroom Classes for a total of 28 hours
Cost $399 includes the textbook.


Students will need to complete Part 2, 3 & 4 of this class.

This training consists of four parts, each representing a more difficult skills progression level. Course fees include the textbook, some equipment, and use of the grooming laboratory at the BRCTC Morgan County Center in Berkeley Springs.
 
All grooming equipment and tools for training are available for student use; however, students are encouraged to purchase grooming tools and equipment during the grooming course to prepare for a career in the field of Professional Pet Grooming.
