Professional Pet Groomer Training BRCTC Morgan Co Center (Berkeley Springs, WV)
This training consists of four parts, Each representing a more difficult skills progression level. Course fees include the textbook, some equipment, and use of the grooming laboratory at the Blue Ridge CTC Morgan County Center in Berkeley Springs, WV.
Part 1: Safety, Terminology, Bath and Brush
Learn the fundamentals of grooming, handling techniques, equipment, safety, health, and the skills to correctly bathe and brush out pets. This course prepares students so they may begin entry into the job market for Bather/Brusher positions.

Part 2: Bath & Trim and Basic Clip Down
Learn de-matting techniques, how to use clippers and safely clip the entire pets body, recognize skin issues, and begin trimming and styling.

9 Classroom sessions | 36 hrs. of training
Part 3: Introduction to Pattern Clips
Begin the art of clipping specific breeds using industry-recognized guidelines, begin scissoring skills, and practice more defined clipping.

11 Classroom sessions | 44 hrs. of training
Part 4: Intermediate Pattern Clips
Students will learn to trim Poodles and poodle type coats, as well as practice more refined scissoring skills needed to perform the variety of poodle clips and finishing technique.

8 Classroom sessions | 32 hrs. of training
All grooming equipment and tools for training are available for student use; however, students are encouraged to purchase grooming tools and equipment during the grooming course to prepare for a career in the field of Professional Pet Grooming.
Students MUST be able to control larger dogs, lift 50lbs onto a table, and safely use scissors without injuring animals.
Students may be dismissed from the program if the instructor deems the student unsafe or harms an animal.
