Artificial intelligence, social media, gaming, and smartphones are changing childhood faster than most families can keep up.

This practical community seminar will help parents, grandparents, educators, and caregivers understand the digital world children are navigating from cyberbullying, online predators, scams, deepfakes, misinformation, and privacy risks to the growing influence of AI.

Presenter

Dr. John R. Unger II is an educator, public-policy leader, and interdisciplinary scholar whose work focuses on responsible, reliable, and safe artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity ethics, psychology, and the responsible use of emerging technologies. He teaches at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College and West Virginia University, including graduate-level courses in Responsible and Safe Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Ethics.

A Rhodes Scholar, former West Virginia State Senator, and former Special Senior Advisor in the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, Dr. Unger brings together technology, education, ethics, psychology, and public leadership to help families and communities navigate technological change safely, wisely, and responsibly.
