« back to classes page
This one-day course is designed for individuals who are new to a supervisory role or preparing to move into one. The training focuses on the practical skills needed to successfully transition from employee to supervisor, with an emphasis on real-world application rather than theory.
Participants will learn the core responsibilities of a supervisor, including how to set clear expectations, communicate effectively with staff, and manage employee performance. The course also addresses common challenges faced by new supervisors, such as handling difficult conversations, addressing workplace issues early, and maintaining fairness and consistency across a team.
Key topics include delegation, basic documentation practices, time management, conflict resolution, and building credibility as a leader. Through guided activities and workplace scenarios, participants will practice applying these skills in situations they are likely to encounter on the job.
By the end of the course, participants will have a clear understanding of their role as a supervisor and the tools needed to manage people and processes with confidence and accountability. Lunch is included in the cost of the class.
